Motherboard Fault?

Hi,

I have a computer at home which has just developed a fault.

Firstly, I have replaced the power supply, due to one of the capacitors inside being ‘blown’ off!

Secondly, the motherboard now does not have any working USB’s, Audio or network card. Do you think some kind of power surge happened, which has damaged the power supply & motherboard?

The strange thing is, the computer boots, but no USB’s work, Onboard Audio & LAN.

Any ideas?

have you treid re-installing the mobo drivers?

Yes, I have tried audio etc- Should I try chipset drivers?

Yes, where did you get the information about the capacitors in the Power Supply? Very odd thing to have happened, no?

Haven't you accidently disabled the things in bios? Try resetting bios defaults? Also try different drivers.

Hi,

Triued reeting BIOS to default - enabled LAN, but still no joy!!!

I think I am going to try another board!!!

Most of those items are controlled by the southbridge. Touch it and see if its hot. Sounds like mobo is half fried.
