Hi Guys,

I am in need of expert advice. I am building a Gaming / Development System. I had bought Asus Rampage II Extreme (R2E) for this system but unforunately the MB had abnormal temperatures for NorthBridge. Now I am looking for another Mother Board. May be something other than R2E.

I have purchased following components:
Intel Core i7 920 D0 2.66GHz Socket 1366 8MB Cache Retail Boxed Processor
OCZ GameXStream 850W PSU - SLI Ready, Silent 120mm Blue LED Fan (1* 24 PIN ATX connector, 1 * 8 PIN CPU connector)
Coolmast HAF 932 Case with 8 Fans.
Samsung SpinPoint F3 ITB HDD
Samsung 22x DVD RW SATA BLACK SH-S223B/BEBE
Sapphire ATi HD 4870 1GB GDDR5 PCI-E Dual DVI
Corsair memory 6GB XMS3 1600MHz DDR3 9-9-9-24 Kit (3x2048MB) RAM
Corsair CMXAF1 Dominator Memory Fan Cooler
Prolimatech megahalems cooling unit with 2 Fans.
OVERCLOCKING: Yes

MONITOR RESOLUTION: 1920x1080

Please help me in choosing a right MB other than R2E.

Regards
AR

As Al has said any would do, but if youre wanting to stay away from Asus then Gigabyte is next logical choice, and I'd recomend the UD5, I assume you have similar budget to R2E

Just remount the heatsink on the R2E with arctic ceramique. Doesn't affect warranty, can do very good things for temperatures.

Factory mounting is a bit variable so this is worth doing. Actively recommended on the Asus forums. Just take out the push pins and remount with screws.
