I'm thinking of upgrading my CPU soon to an overclock able one, currently have an i7 3770, which isn't a k version. Anybody have any advice for a new Motherboard?? Wouldn't mind a Gigabyte one due to having a Gigabyte graphics card. Any advice guys???

It really wouldnt be worth the cost but if your set on it then get a Z77 motherboard, you will have to go second hand which command a high price.

Somebody has already told me that but on some games mainly strategy I get massive lag and always feel the CPU is struggling. Is there nuffing on the overclockers site worth having?

Ive got a I7 3770. MSI B75MA-E33. Gigabyte 980Ti. and 8GB of bag standard ram. Which is probably pretty low grade stuff. I bought a ready made low budget pc with the CPU and Motherboard and Ram. But then over time ive put in the new graphics card. Ive put in a SSD as well.

Download a program called FRAPS which will give you frame rates in game, i doubt its your system its more likely server lag.

Also try disabling hyperthreading in the bios.

Yeah I have fraps and MSI afterburner. Theres no server lag in the strategy games because I dont play them online. What kind of performance would I gain from a new motherboard and say a skylake CPU???

So your point is for the 400 pound it would cost to upgrade it wouldn't be worth it. When are they actually bringing out a new CPU that would be worth it? lol
