Motherboard heating issue?

Hello all,

I'm a bit of a computer-noob so I was hoping someone could shed some light on my situation.

Basically, I'm using speccy to check the temps of my pc, and noticed that while playing a game the "motherboard" degrees ran upto 250c .... that's right, 250.
I downloaded a program called SpeedFan that also checks temps and although I'm not sure which degree reading is my motherboard (as they aren't named except for my graphics card), none of the temps went this high, or even close.

As soon as I stop doing anything on my pc it goes down to 1 to 4 degrees.

All my other temps are around 35-40c, obviously raising a bit when doing something like playing games.

So any idea what this could mean? 250 degrees sounds a bit crazy to me.

Thanks :)

Welcome to the forums :)

Ignore the 250c reading...its a false reading for sure...either a faulty temp sensor or one that isnt read right by software.

250c would def result in a lot of smoke and pc death :)
