Hi guys,

I'm currently in the process of a new build but I am unsure of what mb to chose for a i5-4670k...

I will be doing some basic OCing as I haven't done it before and I was wondering which mobo's have WiFi connectivity?:)

Any suggestions are welcome:) thanks.

All Asus Pro have wifi as far as I know, built in, that is.
You know you can just buy anything and add an expansion card?
Just go to the OCuk store, then Networking >>
Wireless Desktop >> Network cards.
But if you want this already with your mobo, its Asus Pro boards. I have a mini-itx Pro and it works great. The full atx

What kind of budget you looking for? £100, £200? £80? For the lower end you might look at the GA-Z87-HD3 gigabyte board, maybe the D3HP, medium ~£130 the UD3H, and the list just goes on and on

Yeah, maybe the GA-Z87-UD4H then (free water cooler) or the Z87X-OC, both very good boards

You don't need a expensive motherboard for Haswell. The cpu will run out of headroom long before you run out of tweaking options in the bios. I would go for a good, solid board around £120.

Gigabyte G1. Sniper.

Gigabyte Z87X-D3H.

Asus Z87-A.

All are £119.99 and are more than enough to get a decent overclock out of Haswell. All have Sli and Crossfire support should you go down that route in the future.

Managed to net a Gigabyte OC z87 two weeks ago on b-grade for 74.50. Love the features, ideal for me who likes to bench and clock. Comes with all the usual bells and whistles, a slightly revised bios, PCIe switches in case you want to disable any of the lanes and a ton of buttons like the 'Direct to bios' key.

If i didn't get it for this price though, the G1 sniper would have been top of my list due to value for money.

The individual components are of worse quality but that doesn't mean they are not adequate. You wont push the MSI g45 to its limit, so the sturdiness of VRMs is a moot point when either will do the same thing at the end of the day.

PCIe config is also a moot point if OP wont Crossfire. Considering he is pairing the board with an i5, i assume there are no plans for high end GPU Crossfire.

If this is the case, then grab the G1 sniper. Great board, matx, cheap, has wifi and great onboard sound.

It is the ideal choice for a mid range gaming setup.

Personally i don't like MSI boards because every one i have had in the past has failed. The Z87-A is a very good board and mine has been solid. It's not the best looker though. Out of the ones i posted above i would get the Gigabyte G1.Sniper if i was buying now.

I dont like MSI boards mainly because of their rep for exploding and failing VRM's in am3 and am3+ boards.

There is a throttling list somewhere, which shows which AM3+ boards throttle a 8320 at stock and the amount of MSI and Asrock boards which score red is unbelievable!

Only one Gigabyte board made the list scoring orange and no Asus boards made the list. Was a specific problem for a different socket and CPU, so its a moot point but the brand name and its failures cant help but float about a little at the back of your mind.

Gigabyte has the most awesome warranty if it means much to you.
