Evening all,

I just received a second hand Mboard (Asrock Z68 Extreme4, cpu (i5 2500k) and ram (Corsair Vengeance) from my cousin due to him upgrading, however when connecting it up it doesn't boot at all, no sounds or anything, I've tried everything possible but it still doesn't seem to boot, I'm just wondering whether I'm missing anything?

Cheers :)

Have you plugged the extra 8pin ATX connector in next to the CPU?

Are you sure you have connected the power button from the case correctly in the right place?

As far as I can see (and feel) the 8-pin is connected firmly and I've got the power button connector description face up (I presume this is the right way as I didn't look at my previous mobo before I unplugged (mistake)

Is there any signs of life?

Check the PSU is switched ON (many have a rocker switch at the back), check the mains cable fuse.

Instead of using the button to power it on, use the onboard power ON button in the lower right corner.

You're a genius, thank you so much. The 8-pin connection were the wrong way *FACEPALM*
