My nephew has convinced his parents to update parts of his PC so he can play more intensive games and neither they or myself have enough knowledge to say for certain that the list of parts he has given them will be compatible with each other. Here is the motherboard that he is using the list of parts he is looking to upgrade to.

Motherboard : Asus PRIME A320M-K

KFA2 GeForce RTX 3050 8GB V2 OC Graphics Card

AMD Ryzen 5 5600 Six Core 4.4GHz (Socket AM4) Processor

Corsair CMK16GX4M2B3200C16 Vengeance LPX 16 GB (2 x 8 GB)

After looking at the CPU he wants it states that it is a 5th gen CPU - and according to the specs of his current Motherboard it is good for a gen 1/2/3 CPU. Will this mean they wont work together.
I have mentioned to his parents that maybe getting a new mobo first is they way forward.

Thanks for any help

From the support page for that board, the 5600 is supported, but it needs bios 5862 or later (prior to installation of the new cpu, since the board doesn't have flashback).

FYI: the RTX 3050 tends to be poorer value than the RX 6600, but depends what you're paying for it.
