Motherboard Issue?

Hey guys.

About 2 months ago I built a new computer with the following specs:

Samsung Spinpoint F3 1TB Hard Drive
SAMSUNG 128GB 830 Series SSD
Intel Core i7 3770K 3.5GHz
Asus P8Z77-V Socket 1155
Antec Kuhler H2o 920
Corsair Vengeance 16GB (2x 8GB) 1600MHz DDR3

Along with my old Nvidia GTX 460 and 600w OCZ Modular PSU. After building the system I had an issue with the x16 PCI-e lane, as in that as soon as I installed the Nvidia drivers the display would stop working. I put the card in the x8 lane and all was working fine!

I then went back home for vacation and took my graphics card and PSU so I could still game. After leaving both parts at home as I was going to buy new ones I install the new power supply, make the cables all look nice tidy, and pretty :D everyone was working as I wanted it too (Minus the GPU, it doesn't arrive until Monday).

However, I left the computer alone last night and when I come back it was asleep, I woke it up to find the display would not turn on. I restarted the computer and it booted up normally. 20 minutes later the whole computer freezes and nothing is responding so I turn it off, turn it back on and the CPU LED on the motherboard is solid red (Indicating a CPU issue). After a few attempts at restarting it finally boots back up just to do the same things 10 minutes later.

It would also be worth noting it did the same thing with the RAM LED when I first got it but I pressed the "MemOK!" switch on the board and that fixed that issue.

My suspicion is with the Motherboard as it's where all these issues are coming from and it's unlikely going to be GPU, CPU and RAM in a simultaneous failure (noting I KNOW the GPU is fine as I've been using it over the summer).

If anyone has any ideas let me know, It may just be a case of RMAing the Mobo.

Pull the battery and reseat the ram, I would say reseat the cpu but its not the sort of thing you can get almost right. If problems persist rma the board, tbh that many issues suggests something isn't correct with the board, faulty clocking would be my guess, not that you would have the kit to check.

After pulling the battery then replacing it after about 5 minutes it is now booting fine, no red lights and I've been rebooting it over and over again to make sure it's continuing to do so.

I will hold off on the RMA until my new GPU comes then see how it goes from there. If I have any more issues from here on I'll definitely RMA it.

Thanks

I'll keep this thread updated if anything changes.

After the issue reoccurred I decided to take the motherboard out and inspect it, it seems there are two bent pins in the CPU slot.

Will be RMAing.
