Motherboard issue

So I've had my PC for a good 6/7 months and it's worked fine but the other day I was not getting any input on either of my monitors (One HDMI Input the other through VGA) so i did the normal tests, swapped monitors and tried it on another PC and my monitor worked fine on it.

I assume it is a motherboard issue and wondering:
1) if there is anything i can try to fix it?
2) If i bought a dedicated card would that work without the integrated graphics being operational.

I was planning an upgrade anyway so if it can't be fixed and i can use a dedicated card without upgrading my mobo then it's no problem.

Specs: ASUS A68HM-Plus mobo
AMD A10 7700K Quad Core CPU
8GB Hyperx Fury RAM
1TB Kingston HDD
120GB Kingston SSD

A dedicated GPU will work without the onboard functioning. What do you use the PC for?

It could be that it's a CPU issue as your processor is an APU, with the graphics built into it. The only real way to find out is to put a graphics card in the system and see if it works.

you could try a clear cmos or remove the battery for a few hours to reset everything.

failing that use a dedicated gpu and see if that works if it does you know its a IGPU issue
