I have just put together my first build - everything went just fine apart from I see an 'AO' code displayed on the motherboards led lighting.
The motherboard is the Gigabyte Z97X-Gaming 7.

Is this an error code or is this normal?
What is this led text display for? Temperatures?

Also wondering what is the best software available for monitoring my computer (cpu) temps?

ALL OKAY

Pretty sure that's what it stands for :p

There'll be a section in the manual with a long list of the codes and what they mean.

Hwmonitor - for software to monitor all temps.

A0 = IDE initialization is started

Basically means BIOS has finished it's stuff and the system is now running from your hard drive, in other words Windows is now doing it's thing.

It's not really an error code, more a status code to let you know everything is working fine.

That's good news! Thanks! System up and running :-)
I will give HWMonitor a whirl. I haven't used Windows PC for a while now (I've been using Mac OS and will never go back after seeing the simplicity of Windows 10), I'm just wondering what is the best antivirus software available today. Had some bad experiences with Norton years ago and went with AVG free ever since. I don't mind if you have to pay for it but just want the best antivirus available that won't take over my computer with firewall blocks etc. but just protect me to the best possible.

I will probably get something like Spybot additional but looking for an everyday virus protector. Any recommendations?
