Motherboard / Memory Issue

Hello all, i recently bought parts for a new build but forgot to check the compatability between the motherboard and memory beforehand (doh).

I'm not 100% on what this would mean but the motherboard page states that it does support 2400mhz but overclocked, just wondering if it would be safe to use out of the box and if i should consider a different solution before attempting the build. Any help with this would be appreciated.

Motherboard: http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MB-501-GI

Memory Support 4 x DDR3 DIMMs 1066/ 1333/ 1600/ 1866(OC)/ 2133(OC)/2400(OC)/ 2666(OC)/ 2800(OC)/ 3000(OC) up to 32GB max

Memory: http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MY-384-CS

Sorry if this is posted in the wrong place, please move if it is.

Hi,

When you fit the RAM it will run at JEDEC standards which is like 1333/1600MHz

To get the full speed out of the RAM you go into the advanced memory page and simply load XMP Profile, the board will read the data contained on the sticks, set the speed, timings and volts correctly for you, then all you have to do is save+exit, bingo...RAM now at 2400MHz and the CPU is still running at stock.
