Guys,
I have have got a Gigabyte GA-945GCM and 2Gb DDR2 PC5300.

The memory is only on one SIM though. There is a free SIM on the MB. What would I need to buy to get this up to 4G? I can buy another single SIM? Could you send me the link please?

I don't get this single SIM malarkey. I have a Q6600 system I built myself and I installed the memory in pairs. I thought you had to do that - i.e. install in pairs that were matched???

Thanks, Steve

As you're already using a single 2GB DIMM you should be able to use 4GB.

There appears to be several versions and revisions of that board.

GA-945GCM-S2 max 2GB
GA-945GCM-S2C max 4GB
GA-945GCM-S2L max 4GB

Assuming you've got one of the boards that will take 4GB then you just need to find a matching (hopefully identical) DIMM and plug it in. The details of the existing DIMM should be printed on it somewhere.

As memory is fairly cheap at the moment it may be easier to just buy a 2 x 2GB kit and remove the existing memory.
