I'm using an Asus A8N-Sli motherboard with an Opty 144 processor.
Over the course of the past week or so the machine has been sluggish to boot (refusing to POST 9 out of 10 times) (Crucial Ballistix PC4000 2x512 mem), and I narrowed it down to one of the sticks being the issue.
Purchased some G.Skill 1GB DDR ZX PC3200 (2x512MB) CAS2 Dual Channel Kit today, intending to use it with the good stick of Ballistix and when the other stick comes back from RMA to have 2Gb memory.
However, I get BSOD when using the G.Skill (Memory_Management error). When I use just the G.Skill I receive a file system error, so i'm thinking my mobo is shafted.
Anyone who can shed some light on this for me ? Am I correct in thinking my mobo is shot ?
