Alright,

Iv got an EPOX motehrboard, and i need to make it fit into a 19inch 1U thing.

So I need to get rid of the audio socket thingy, (it rests higher than all the other IO sockets at the back)

How can I mod the motherboard to remove this? Can I literally just cut if off?

Should I get some of those voltage checking thingys, and remove it, and wire it so it has the same voltage going through the same points?

Anyone ever done this before?

I suppose you could de-solder it from the motherboard, but you would need to be very careful not to damage other components. To be honest I wouldn't recommend doing anything like this to your board, I'd try to find some other way around the problem.

going to desolder it tomorrow i think; cant think of any alternative.

only way is to use a DFI board that has detachable audio headers, but they're expensive for the use
