Please help me !

I have a HTPC with a Gigabyte G33M-S2 motherboard and an Intel E6850. Everything has been running fine for a couple of years, but on a recent reboot I noticed that the CPU wasn't running at the expected 9x333Mhz.

I went into the BIOS (Award 6.00B6) to correct this, however upon rebooting again, the old settings remained. The obvious cause of this would be a motherboard battery, but I also tried changing the time and this worked, so it can't be that.

Any other ideas?

Hi

According to a review that i have just read about this board there is a CMOS reset button/swith located at the rear of the board or it may just be the CMOS jumper cant really see on the images. I have read in other forum posts that motherboards with the buttons/switches on they are accidently being pressed or switched by something in that area of the case maybe a cable of some sort.

Thats all i can suggest on this.

Here's where the reviews are located (under feedback tab).

Thanks, I'll have a look shortly.

The problem with trying to sort out problems on a HTPC is that it never has any downtime.
