Hi,

Moved everything over to a new case yesterday, and after the first boot it won't show the boot up menu any more or give me the option to enter BIOS. It always worked fine till I moved over to the new case, and for the first time in the new case. On bootup it hovers over a black screen for 5-10 seconds, then goes straight into the windows log on screen, and everything is working on windows.

I'm using an ASUS Rive, and have my monitor connected by displayport. I'm pretty sure I must have nudged one of the 10,000 buttons/switches on the motherboard which is causing this issue, but I can't find anything in the motherboard manual to help me.

All help is appreciated,

James

Do you have dual monitors enabled or were you connected to a different display port previously? You may find its outputting the BIOS boot screen to that one.
Possibly the settings have been reset when you moved everything over, check in the BIOS that you have the display set as PCI express. Some boards have something like Init display: PCI card.

Only 1 monitor currently in use, and plugged into the same port on the same GPU on the same slot. All my other settings eg OC/Mem Speed/Fan control, seem to be ok. It's just wierd how it came up once yesterday and now won't!

A friend of mine had this same issue, I built a pc last year and he bought it from me in which the same day he came round and I finished my new computer so I can give him my current.

At my house everything was totally fine no problem. I dropped it off to his house and set it up for him got the OC's done for him and just guided him through the system since he is a newbie.

The next day he rings me and says he cant enter bios but windows etc works fine, I went to visit him and I spent a long time trying to see what the problem could be but honestly no luck. I really have no idea what he has done to it

Update!

I decided to switch my monitors around, and it will give me the option to enter bios on it! Weird! Must be the other monitor is getting a signal early enough maybe?

He's using a big ass 50" tv so it may be possible it's because of that! ill have to let him know, he has no use for the bios anyways since he doesn't know anything :L but still worth a try! thanks dude.
