Motherboard on the blink?

Hi guys for few days now my illuminated keyboard keys have been periodically flickering and i been getting the windows connect/disconnect device sound. I am hoping its maybe the keyboard playing up or could it poss be the motherboard? I had only noticed it while gaming so thought maybe its over heating but i have now noticed it when just ticking over.
Any help or advise would be apreciated.

Is it just the keyboard? If so, I think it would be more of a case of a fault keyboard than a motherboard.

lol that would be a good place to start just put it in diff usb will report back. the computer seems to freeze/stutter along with the keyboard while im in game.
