Motherboard or CPU failure?

Hi everyone,

I hope this is in the correct forum category, saw loads of help topics here. I would appreciate if someone could help me out with some advice/knowledge on what to do next.

Brief Summary

• No POST on boot.
• Fans spin, LED's turn on, optical drive works, but no POST, beeps or video display.

How it happened

• Wednesday, I get a CPU fan error, opened case and saw CPU fan not running.
• Replaced heatsink (w/ fan) with stock heatsink and fan which came with my Intel C2D processor.
• Came from abroad on Friday and decided to put a new unused Gigabyte X Power CPU cooler
• Took some time to put it in because its massive but got it in with all the proper cleaning, thermal paste and non-static wristbands.
• And now, I get nothing as stated in the brief summary

Specs
Mobo: Asus P5Q Deluxe P45 Socket 775 (purchased from Overclockers April 2010)
PSU: OCZ 550W
RAM: 3GB
Processor: Core 2 Due E5300 2.6 Ghz
GPU: ATI 1GB 4xxx HD Series

Misc
Build this PC myself last year 2010, bought parts from a few places and was running fine.
Have removed RAM, CMOS battery, but to no avail. No beeps at any time.

Ultimate question, what do I do now? Is it CPU? Motherboard?

I have the P5Q-E mine died early in the week the two lights on the board are just flashing all the time no matter what i do. Have you got both the lights flashing if so from reading on Asus forum it's dead

Sorry for being a noob, what are tow lights? Or do you mean two lights? Nothing is flashing on mine, the lights are on as normal.

Another question, how do I get access to the OcUK Customer Service forum? It's private.

I can't live without my PC and I am slowly dying...

Well if there not flashing your board might be alright still

I have ran out of ideas, do I buy a CPU and try it? But from what I have read CPU's are unlikely suddenly to die like this. I removed the CPU and 'looks' fine.
