Asus Rampage Formula problem

i recently got the asus rampage formula motherboard and after installing it last night it wouldnt post, i get the message 'det dram' on the lcd panel. after reading a bit about this apparently its to do with old bios not detecting certain ram but how am i supposed to update the bios if it wont even post.

ram is ozc reaper 1066mhz

any new board shouldnt have an old bios
but things you can try
1) try 1 stick of RAM, each at a time, maybe one of them is faulty, also try different DIMM slots in case it is faulty mobo (much less likely)
2) if that doesnt work do you have any old RAM you can try?

I have same board and RAM, got mine over 6 months ago now and mine booted first time no problems, so its sounding like one of your RAM DIMMs maybe faulty, as said in 1) try them individually, this should work around that
