Evening All
I've just spent the afternoon trying to build a new Gaming PC for a friend.
I seem to have a problem, where if the 8-Pin CPU power connector is plugged into the motherboard, the motherboard wont turn on at all?? If I remove the 8-Pin power cable and run the MB on just the 24 pin power it starts up...but obv wont post without CPU power.
Ive taken the Mobo out of the case to make sure it isnt shorting and even tried connecting the PSU from my PC and the same thing happens....so its not the PSU.
I believe its a faulty MB.....but just thought I'd ask some of you guys as I cant believe its the CPU......ive never heard of a faulty CPU out the box.
Motherboard is a EVGA P67 SLi MB and the CPU is an Intel i5 2500k.....
