Motherboard Problem

Hi All

I have started having an issue with my home servers motherboard. I recently needed to log directly into the server so connected a screen and there is no longer any video output. I was able to get the bios up and then nothing after the reset, I realise that I may have changed something in the BIOS that may have produced this error, however I cannot get the BIOS up on the screen anymore. I have tried clearing the CMOS by changing the jumper position however the motherboard doesn't power up when in this configuration (from what I have read in the manual it should power up to clear it) and I have tried removing the battery but nothing is working. Soooo I am open to any ideas as to what could be causing this and what I can do to solve it, prior to this I was having no issues with it so it is a little disappointing that this has happened.

My servers spec is in my signature but the motherboard is an AsRock H67m-itx.

Thankyou

you put the jumper back to where it was after clearing cmos? it wont boot otherwise

Yup moved the jumper to clear the CMOS then moved it back to its original position and it boots after it moves back but not when the jumper is in the clear position (not sure if this is how its meant to be, if this is the case though then other things may be wrong).

I will add that I have tried a graphics card in the board to see if it was just the onboard graphics that have failed but still no luck.

It's normal, you only place it in that position for a few seconds to clear the cmos,it grounds it and resets cmos, you then place the jumper back into its original position and it will boot up

Your using onboard graphics? And no graphics card?

Have you or can you test with a DVI or vga cable if your monitor has those ports?

Could you try leaving out the motherboard battery for atleast 30minutes,then put back in and power up pc

I have that exact same problem as well, tried clearing CMOS, removing batteries etc.
The most I can get is the screen before booting into BIOS, once I press DEL the screen black out, with fans running etc.
Sent it back to RMA and will let you know what OcUK people says :S
