I'm in abit of a pickle and thought i'd pick the members of OcUK brains. I've got £250 to spend on a decent Processor and Motherboard.

What do you guys suggest as im building a decent gaming rig bit by bit.

Ah cheers for that bud. I'm leaving the memory till after i've got the Motherboard and Processor.

I've got a budget of £250 for both Motherboard and Processor so i was thinking of topping it off with a Intel Core 2 DUO E6400 "LGA775 Allendale" 2.13GHz (1066FSB), instead of the Intel Core 2 DUO E6300 "LGA775 Allendale" 1.86GHz (1066FSB).

What you think, i've not had a good experience with Gigabytes Motherboards nor ABIT's Motherboards so far, so all your information helps. My minds not quite made up with what to do i have heard good things about the new Core 2 Duos.

Mainly going to be doing some gaming and of course Microsoft Windows Vista.

Well i had a good look at the Memory DDR2 2GB Modules and wasn't exactly cheap so i came to the conclusion of getting the Processor and Motherboard first then shell out on some decent quality memory not long after.

Basically looking for a decent quality Processor and Motherboard first before i move to the memory modules.

Intel Core 2 DUO E6300 "LGA775 Allendale" 1.86GHz (1066FSB) - Retail.
Gigabyte GA_965P_DS3 (Socket 775) PCI-Express DDR2 Motherboard.

Intel DP965LT 965 (Socket 775) PCI-Express DDR2 Motherboard - Retail - Came accross this any good or leave well alone and get whats been recommended.

So this would be the right choice to go for as im liking the sound of a little overclocking. I've also thought about SLi and Crossfire is it really worth it or just buy a good graphics card?

I was thinking for the extra £18 Gigabyte GA_965P_DS4 (Socket 775) PCI-Express DDR2 Motherboard with the
Intel Core 2 DUO E6300 "LGA775 Allendale" 1.86GHz (1066FSB) - Retail should round of to £261 with Postage and Packaging.

Is it worth going the extra for the DS4 as it's Crossfire capable, or is SLi and Crossfire basically not worth it anymore? Trying to get the best bang for buck.

Not getting it till after christmas beginning of January (around the 3rd of the month) maybe able to raise my budget to £300 by then but thats about it.

EDIT: Noticed theres now a new Revision of the Gigabyte GA_965P_DS4 v2.0. If this Motherboard is recommended is Overclock selling this Revision.
