Motherboard question??

My gf's brothers PC has gone wrong.... looks to be the motherboard.

He has a core 2 duo INTEL CPU and if I get this board -

Can I still use DDR2 memory with it?

No.

It needs DDR3.

He hasn't got a lot of money to get this fixed.... PC won't power on, but vid card, PSU and memory all check out ok...

You can use that.

1333MHz RAM speed is "overclocked" on that motherboard so you may have to do bit of fiddling in the BIOS to get it to that speed. Failing that it'll work at 1066MHz.

You can also use these which are £10 cheaper:

Corsair Value 4GB (2x2GB) DDR3 PC3-10666C9 1333MHz Low Voltage Dual-Channel Kit, near enough the same

Kingston HyperX Genesis Grey 4GB (2x2GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C9 1600MHz Dual Channel Kit, faster RAM but you can run it at lower speeds

You could have a gander in the MM and see if there are any DDR2 S775 motherboards for sale.

What do you mean , its just a website with a memory specification review ... theres no compitition in that ,, who's it competing with ?

It's a site where you can buy RAM so it's a competitor to OcUK.
