For this one? Gigabyte Motherboard Socket 775 P35C-DS3R S Series Intel Gaming

** link removed **

I don't really know much about them - but if you can help me out! I want a Motherboard that will help game play for Battlefield 3, and I don't really want to pay over £40, don't mind if it's second hand.

Also, I want to add some more RAM I was thinking about getting another 2GB stick, does it matter which I get as long as it's DDR2?
Thanks!

You would need another 775 socket motherboard, it is going to do you no real good upgrading the board and nothing else, 775 is also a dead socket. DDR2 ram is also dead tech but you can get some cheap, second hand. As long as it is the same frequency, i/e 800mhz you should be fine.

The only real benefit you can get is a GPU upgrade depending on what you have, even at that it might bottleneck.

What is your current cpu in your system?

Just doing to a Motherboard upgrade wont increase BF3, cpu along with the GPU will help greatly.

I've got a NVIDIA GeForce GT 320

That's the problem, upgrading the board will do nothing.

You are looking at upgrading that thing to at least a 7770 or a GTX470 but this depends on the CPU, since both these cards are low end-ish.

Being honest you are due an upgrade.

That build above will do just fine, capable of playing most games at medium settings, or this:

YOUR BASKET
1 x AMD A10-5800K Black Edition 3.80GHz (Socket FM2) APU Trinity Quad Core Processor (AD580KWOHJBOX) £99.95
1 x Gigabyte F2A85X-D3H AMD A85X Chipset (Socket FM2) DDR3 ATX Motherboard £64.99
1 x GeIL EVO Veloce Hot-Rod Red 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 PC3-17000C11 2133MHz Dual Channel Kit (GEV38GB2133C11DC) £47.99
Total : £223.73 (includes shipping : £9.00).

Okay, thank you for your help! I'm going to need to Save for a new computer as I've spent my savings on a Car :)

no posting external sales links - id remove the link before a mod does it for you and warns you for it :)
look for the gigabyte z68 board in the B grade section on here. 35 quid. then pick up maybe 4gb ram. 20 quid. pentium 1155 processor. 30 quid. gpu, source externally, id recommend a 5770 (cheap, dx11) for around 45. 60gb ssd. 40ish. 400w psu. 30. antec merc alpha case. 30. Winner.

Is a 5770 worth it? Considering they go about £40-70 depending on where you look/luck, you could get an the 5800k with built in 6670 + the mobo for roughly the same price all in. Could reuse his old case as well if budget doesen't permit.
