Hi Folks

Hoping someone can can point me in the right direction for a replacement motherboard & processor. I have a Gigabyte Z370N and the PC has gone pop - can't boot into windows, use the advanced recover or boot to USB so I'm thinking the board / processor are done (?).

Other bits include RX 5700 XT GPU, 16GB Corsair vengeance 2666 RAM, M.2 SSD with OS on in a NZXT H510 case.

I think we were due an upgrade anyway. The PC is actually my daughter's who is just about to go to uni - with her PC, she plays bouldersgate, dead by daylight, RDR2 etc.

Could anyone help with a suitable replacement MB and processor please? And RAM if required. I've had a look round the sales pages but I'm quickly lost in the detail. Ideally want to keep cost/performance ratio good (obviously) and keep it sub £200 if we are talking MB & processor or maybe £300 if the gains are worth having / RAM is also needed.

Any help / guidence gratefully received!

In addition - what is the score with Windows these days? - if I buy a new MB do I also need to purchase the OS?

TIA

I'd suggest:

My basket at OcUK:

Total: £208.98 (includes delivery: £0.00)

Cooler is included in the CPU box.

Motherboard has wireless (AX means wireless in Gigabyte-speak).
Thanks @Tetras !

Do you mind if I ask if you know the answer in relation to the windows OS query?

I bought a w11 retail key for £4.99 from Electronic First . com the other day so all you would need to do is download windows and have a new os for you new pc. Plenty of videos on you tube to see how you do it if you have not installed windows before.

£4.99! Really??? I've 'reinstalled' plenty of times, including on motherboards new to me but 2nd hand so this will be my 1st 'new MB fresh out of the box' experience - just want to make sure I dont have any financial surprises waiting for me when I order.

Nice one thanks. I have a 1TB SSD for storage and a 250GB M2 at the moment with the OS on... I have no other means of getting access to what is on that drive without this PC working so would make sense to use this new drive for a fresh start and leave the other as it is to be accessed later if I need anything off it.

Great service from the OC shop BTW, next day delivery dropped off before mid day
