hi guys..

recently overclocked my FX6300 using a gigabyte 78lmt-usb3 motherboard.

had it at 4.1 with 1.44v

after i did it.. when left it idle and folding, i would come back to it after work and it had restarted its self.., not thinking much of it, apart from it might need a driver update or something.

anyway, turned it off last night.. turned it on this afternoon.. first boot didn't boot to windows.

restarted it.. checked bios.. and noticed everything had being reset..

everything was back to default.

anybody have any ideas why ?, could it have being a fail safe ?.. or maybe my board isn't meant to over clock at all ?, using a FX chip at least.

any ideas would be great, as im extremely confused.

Thanks

I had a p8z77-v lx that wouldnt save the settings I would input. In the end, I updated the BIOs and everything saved afterwards. Maybe try this?
Am I right thinking that it never saved? Or it did save and now its randomly reset?
Could be the battery too.

hi, yes it saved, and randomly reset itself.

i know its not the best board to overclock on, but it should stand 4.1 on a fx chip ?

i have updated the bios, i had to do that before i could put the chip in so the board would support it. i guess this could be one of the reasons it did it ?
