Had an issue with my work pc not booting, tried all the usual stuff still no joy.
the motherboard was still under warranty so called the shop (not Overclockers)for an RMA. Got a shipping label for return via UPS.
I carefully took out the motherboard and packed it in the original box and sent it off. Today I get an email saying that my RMA had been rejected due to physical damage. I rang the store and was told one of the ram clips was broken off and there is a "mild " scratch on the pcb so they could not test it and would have to refuse the RMA.
They gave me a link to photos of the damage, the photos were very poor, I could see the ram clip was broken off but could not see the scratch.
Now when I packed it I took photos of it (just something I always do) aside from that I know there was no damage other that it would not boot.
When i rang back and asked if the box was damaged they said no. I then asked them to send it back to me in the original packing with the broken ram clip (as it would be in the box) so I could try and claim from UPS I was put on hold while he checked they still had the box and to see if the clip was in it.
When he came back on the phone he said that I probably wouldn't get anywhere with UPS as the are a massive company but if I send them an email saying I'm happy for them to carry on testing for a fault they would do so. That's what I've have done.
Just sounds a bit iffy to me. It was either damaged in transit or they have damage it!!
What say GD? are they trying it on. they are a well know company.
