Hi, can someone suggest a motherboard that will best support both the R600 graphics card when it arrives and a quad core CPU?

now don't hold me to this but how would we know what motherboards can support the r600 it is not even out yet.....

I think the only thing you should be worried about is whether it will fit in your case?

My 8800GTX wouldnt fit in my last CoolerMaster Cavalier case, but it fits in my Antec nine hundred (I ended up upgrading everything in the end) :)

Not sure bout the R600, but as Paulus mentioned, its just a x16 PCI-E card... I'm not an ATI fan though, nvidia all the way for me :)

With regards to quad core, just read the descriptions on the mobos here at ocuk, they usually tell you if it supports quad core... my P5N-E SLi for example does!

yeah i suppose... i was just meaning... because it is a new ultra powerful card i can't say for sure it is 100% working... it is not even out yet and there is practically no info.. apart from model names (last time i looked)

So pretty much any motherboard that supports Quad Core should be fine, providing it can do x16, which most if not all do.
