i want a new motherboard because i just bricked mine
Must support E6420 out of the box no BOIS flashing for me any more
4 X DDR2 800mhz slots
4 sata slots min

If you could post OCUK links so i can just click buy that would be super :)

Thanks and Happy Crimbo

In theory that should work. 50/50 i find in practice but worth a shot. Since you'd be recovering with the latest bios as well you'll have support for all currently supported cpus.

when trying to boot from A: drive as told to by MSI i just get a black screen so am just going to get a the new board.

or may get an I3 setup

thanks for your help

Learn the lesson and always create a bad flash recovery floppy / file before flashing in future.

Do you have a speaker connected to the board? You will not see anything in most cases when doing a recovery, it'll boot from the floppy and load bios then beep 4 times. If the BIOS is removable you might get a BIOS chip from MSI or Ebay etc for cheap.

Obvious, but i have to ask.. you are unzipping before you put it on the floppy right?

Just take the little battery on the board out for a few mins.... Put it back in and boot, see if that puts back the default bios on the thing (fixed an old 939 one I nearly bricked years ago)

I was going to bin the board this morning but decided to give the bios 1 more go  it works yay

thanks richb93 for BIOS file and forum link
