This question does not only apply to my motherboard but is also a general query about increasing the number of motherboard usb pin connectors.

I've only got one set of usb pins (the row of 4 and 5 together) on my motherboard board but have bought an Akasa Allinone panel.

This panel requires 3 extra usb connections to the motherboard. One for the card reader and 2 for it's usb sockets.

Is there any internal hub or splitter cable available which will give me more motherboard usb pin connectors?

A bit of info on the Allinone:

I'm hoping for a solution here but fear i may have to return the allinone unless there is some way round this problem.

id very much doubt that you could get a cable to increase the usb headers off the shelf seeing as it would need some sort or circuitry to allow it to act as a hub

it might be possible to bucher a small hub to do what you want if your handy with a soldering iron

Thanks. I thought as much as i've been googling for the last hour with no joy.

Unfortunately, soldering is not one of my skills so i think i'll return the allinone unless anyone has any other suggestions.

Well, you have 6 USB ports on the back panel and pass-through cables are supplied so you can plug 2 ports in the back and pass them through a PCI slot in the back of the PC.

Thanks,
Will those pass-through cables work for both usb ports on the allinone as well as the card reader?

I don't know - I'm just looking at the packaging photographs from the review you posted. ;)

OK! :)
I didn't read the review carefully enough.
The 2 usb ports on the panel can be connected to external ports so that is ok which leaves me with the card reader which needs to be connected to an internal 4 pin port.

edit-no more ports available internally on this board.

Pity this good board doesn't come with more than one usb header but after much searching i found a site which sells:

USB v2.0 to Male Motherboard Header Connector

a cable from the rear usb ports to pass through the pci slot and a 5 pin male header at the other end to connect the card reader to.

:)
