Motherboard WIFI Issues - Help!

This has been an on-going issue which I have worked around using a cheap USB WIFI Adaptor for now but I really want to solve the connection issue when using Motherboard Onboard WIFI.

If all fails I will route a Ethernet Cable to the PC but for now the preferred connection type would be WIFI for my casual/non competitive gaming and general use.

Explanation of issue - When using WIFI I can browse the internet, download files and have no issues running a speed test confirming my speeds are as they should be. (Over 100MB) with WIFI Signal is Strong/Full Signal.

However with my old monitor over display port I could only achieve the above running 60HZ as once I switched to 144HZ the speeds plummeted and connection was lost and when trying to connect to online gaming platforms such as Steam, Origin I would get issues connecting to the servers.

On 60HZ I could load into a game and get the connection issue upon joining and with 144HZ I was unable to even get that far.

I have since upgraded my monitor and now run HDMI and with the display set to 144HZ my internet is working over WIFI as normal until I try to connect to gaming platforms such as Steam and Origin as I get constant connection to server issues to the point where I cannot even stay connected long enough to get into a game.

Switching to my USB Wifi which was a couple of pounds all the above issues are non existent!

Running Windows 11 with the MSI Z690 Pro WIFI on the latest BIOS and with the latest chip set drivers.

My internet provider is Virgin Media with a Hub 3.0 Router from them.

Does anyone have any idea as to how to resolve this please.

Yeah, use the USB dongle.

No idea what chipset that board has but on board stuff is usually trash and it sounds like it’s getting interference when running the monitor at a higher refresh rate.

There was another thread on here recently with the same problem, got the intel ax200 on my board it was forever disconnecting/reconnecting on mine with virgin only used it a few days time i had ethernet finished

But even at 60Hz I would not be able to contact on Origin or if it did by the time I loaded into BF5 Multiplayer it would say connection lost however it was able to maintain a 30GB download no issues.

I know onboard stuff isn’t ideal but on a £180-220 Motherboard (Dependent where it’s from) and also MSI probably use the same WIFI solution on more expensive boards so in 2022 wouldn’t have thought a £5 USB Dongle would be better and issue free :p

Might see how I can run a Ethernet up to the computer for a long term solution.

Intel 6 Wifi mine shows up as and previously searched Google which informs me this MB uses AX200 or AX220 - Cannot remember or find the page.

I still have faith in a networking god to have a solution!
