Hi,

Looking for a recommendation for a motherboard with PCI-X 64 (66-133mhz) or 64bit/66mhz PCI 2.2 slots?

Basically, I have an Adaptec Raid 1420sa card and my old mb is not compatible, so look for a replacement - cheap(ish)

Not sure you'll find too much for 'cheap' with a PCI-X slot... you may have to look at auction sites, tbh.

And what sort of chip are you going to be running? Xeon? Opteron? Or desktop processor (can yell you now that finding one for a Core 2 Duo is going to be tough)...?

Asus P5E WS PRO around the £170 mark but not Overclockers so can't say where from.

Is an X38 based board with a single PCI-X 64bit/66MHZ.

Asus are probably your best bet for looking for such a board with desktop chipsets as opposed to server boards They are typically badged as part of the WS range and aimed at Workstation market so they tend to be more pricey then typical motherboards.

Otherwise you are looking at Xeon or Opteron based boards.

Thanks

Will drop oc a webnote to see if they can source the ASUS P5K WS - as this appears to fit the bill - and it will take my old Pent D until I can fund the upgrade

Looking at OC, the
Asus P5N-D nForce 750i SLi (Socket 775) PCI-Express DDR2 Motherboard does the job for < £100 - it has PCI 2.2 slots
