Motherboard?

Hi All,

I have been having issues with my r9 290 black screening.

does anyone have the card running stable and if so what motherboard?

i have this cpu > Intel Core i7-2700K 3.50GHz (Sandybridge) Socket LGA1155 Processor

could you please tell me what motherboard i need to be looking for as there seem to be many chipsets that dont correlate with my cpu?

h77 - b75 - h61 - h67??

i am a little lost so any assistance would be appreciated

budget is ~ £100 give or take

you want either a z68 or z77 chipset motherboard

id look at the asus v pro boards,ideally z77

ok i have a z68 already and am looking at changing it for something a little newer and capable of handling my gpu?

Oh,well I'd stay with that board then,you can only go to z77 then its time for new CPU if you wanted z87

Overclock your CPU,its more than capable of handling your gpu

unfortunately the reason i want to change mobo is due to the instabilities since getting new r9 290.

i am black screening and crashing like mad and on my second r9.

unlikely its the card so i figured a new mobo might help.

Are you running latest motherboard BIOS? Using latest beta 14.1 gpu drivers?

its the second card i was running 13-12 and am installing 14.1 now

Have you set a custom fan profile with afterburner to see if it helps?

yes i have a nice incline starting @ 40 degrees for 50% fan and so on,

always 10% above the temp to try and keep it cool
