(DELETE/IGNORE ME) Motherboard's Coax out VS M-Audio Coax out VS M-audio Analogue out

[Ignore/delete this thread. I have found that linux doesn't support coax output too well, so I'm going for M-audio revolution 5.1 analogue outputs]

I'm not entirely sure what you mean (sorry, sound newb)

My computer's motherboard has three 3.5 mm analogue jacks that connect to my subwoofer, which then connects to the satelites. My motherboard also has an coax out which I was thinking of using. I expect it is just some realtek rubbish.

However, my question is whether it would be better to have coax or analogue output from my PC. If it is analogue then I will definately get a new soundcard. However, if it is coax then my thinking is that seeing how it is digital, the quality of the components won't be as important (I don't know if that is correct, and is my second question)

Thanks!
