Mothers PC - Socket 478

I have a old custom pc:

P4 3.0 Processor
Asus P4P 800 Deluxe E Motherboard Socket 478
2gb Unbranded Ram
160gb Ide Hardrive
Unbranded PSU
Standard PC Case from shop down the road

The motherboard has broke, now would I just be better off and bite the bullet and get her something new and build it into case around £100 Bundle Mb Ram processor etc. Or is it still worth fishing around for any 478 socket boards?

Depends if you feel the need for an upgrade or not. But you can pick up an E6400/6600, 2/4GB ram and a suitable motherboard for less then £100 for quite an improvement

skt478 motherboards is like rocking horse do do, remember that motherboard fondly though. +1 for above.

Yes - I remember the board too, It was mine originally going back a few years. It's only used nowadays for web browsing and online free bingo lol.

I'm Thinking upgrade might be worth while though. A few used socket 478's on the flea bay but yes I am thinking upgrade!?!?!
