Moto G7 Power - BBC weather app issues

hi all
new to this forum but i wonder if anyone who has a Moto G7 Power handset (great phone btw - battery is phenomenal) could check something out for me please. mine is running android 9 but the BBC weather app just will not open on my handset - it crashes instantly.

it was fine on my previous samsung S7 and earlier phones and i would just like to know if it's something peculiar to my phone or for everybody with this handset. i have emailed their feedback site but have not received a reply to my emails.

Have you tried clearing the cache in the app, failing that uninstall and reinstall?

Many thanks. Clearing the cache and storage on the newly downloaded app did the trick.
