I've been getting bored of gaming over the recent days. I bought Oblivion hoping i could get myself the gaming bug again. Unfortunately i found i just didn't have the patience for it.

All hope was not lost however. I installed Moto GP URT 2 which was bundled in with the graphics card. I'd played it previously but couldn't get used to the controls. I used to try and use separate buttons for accelerating and braking along with steering. Only the other day, i realised you could actually use the left analogue stick to do all of accelerate, brake and steer. :o

Now, i'm just totally addicted to it. No game has ever given me such a buzz before. The graphics on max settings at 1600x1200 are absolutely gorgeous and the feeling of speed on some tracks takes my breath away. Flying down a straight at 250kph with rain drops gathering on your visor is amazing!

Rather than just getting too old for gaming, I think i now just realise that i prefer a certain type of game nowadays. My PC has football, racing and golf games on it at the moment as well as Quake 4 and UT2003.

I'm tending to lean towards the sporting type of games rather than first person shooters. I'm also beginning to think that a console may be best for me in the future.

Finally, whats Moto GP 3 Ultimate RT like? Is it a step up on Moto GP 2 or just the same thing?

I had a different impression of motogp3 than HangTime, I found the standard track races were pretty similar to gp2, and yes the street type tracks were fun. But the thing that put me off playing the game was the bikes sounds, they are just aweful. They actually made me cringe and I just couldnt play the game without them distracting me.

I think there was a demo of it released so you could always give it a try first. I personally will stick with Mgp2.

It's brilliant - a lot more fun to play than Moto GP 2 I found, and runs at constant 60fps in 1600x1200 4xAA 16xAF.

I wrote a mini-review here: http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showthread.php?t=17580919

I might check out the demo that LeakyMeat mentioned if i can find it somewhere.

I agree about the below par sound but i just turn it down slightly and turn the race music up.

Downloading demo now. I'll let you know what i think. :)

I actually don't initially like it. There appears to be too much motion blur and the handling doesn't seem as good as MotoGP2.

I'll stick with it though. When do the street tracks coem along? Do they have to be unlocked?

moto gp3 demo was ace a few of us on here used to play it online.

now my gamingish pc is working i might buy it if i see it cheap somewhere
