MotoGP 2016

I believe the race was moved to SUnday to boost the TV ratings.

That wasn't the result I was expecting in the MotoGP race. A very well deserved win for Jack Miller. What happened to Lorenzo? He was stone dead last at one point!
 
I missed the restarted race, as i always record them and watch later in the day when i've got some free time, so only recorded the first lap of the restart.

Couldn't believe how fast Redding was on the last lap of the first race, 4 seconds faster than Rossi ahead of him, was gutted that they stopped it. looked like all the Honda riders were too, as they were catching up quickly too.

Can't see how Rossi can get back on track now in terms of the championship, Marc seems to be happy to finish on the podium if a win is beyond him on the day. So if he keeps it upright and wins the odd race, the gap looks too big. The Yamaha is definitely the best bike this year and i'd probably argue the Ducati is better than the Honda too, so his approach this year is spot on.

Rossi seems to be doing what Marc did last year, desparate to catch up in the championship points table and is pushing too hard and making mistakes. He's been unbeatable a couple of times, but so have Lorenzo and Marc. They could easily have been within a few points of each other at this stage without the small mistakes they've made.
 
its only been 3 dnf's one of which was an engine blowout. They've all fallen on the new michelins, finding their footing with them.. Had he not had the engine blow and not lost it yesterday, he'd be at the top of the championship now.. It's a shame for him, but at least for the next two yrs it'll be a straight shootout between he and MM93, Cant see how whoregay is going to be in for any running. He's not going to take to the ducati like a duck to water. So there's still chance for the big 10 for VR, before he retires. There is no denying this yr, he's back and fast !!!! just not had lady luck on his side !

Sure he could have been at the top of the championship if he didn't fall (twice) and have an engine blow, but that's racing. He simply pushed too much when he already had a decent lead. He now has a huge chunk of points to make up when they are half way through the season. I'm not discounting him by any means but Marquez needs to have a couple of bad results for him to catch up. Its a shame because if he won at Assen it looked to be shaping up really nicely for the end of the year.

I was staggered when I saw that Rossi had switched to intermediates when he came in to switch bikes. Did Yamaha not see the times that Marquez was pulling on slicks?

I was really hoping that Petrucci would keep it rubber side down :(
 
It was strange I kept thinking they must come in this lap then they carried on, and then it was too late but it all adds to the drama :)

Lorenzo must have forgotten he had other gears

I wouldn't have called it dominant, he only won by around 1 second, and the Yamaha's, were only 3-4 seconds further back (I'm guessing that was probably copy and pasted, so not aimed at yourself)

He rode a good race though, and Dovi couldn't do anything in the end to even get close enough to challenge him.

They reckon Stoner was 0.3 seconds up on the testing day when he fell trying to put in a fast lap on a soft tyre. bearing in mind he'd not used the tyre previously at the test and hadn't pushed 100% in years, and bearly riden a motogp bike really. It makes you wonder what he could be doing on that bike this year if he was a full time rider.

Granted it's only one race win. but if he's 0.3 seconds a lap faster with next to no testing and no racing, what would he be able to do with a full winter test program after a couple of races. The Ducati hasn't been that far off this year at most racers, just needs a faster rider to push it up to the next level.

Don't think Lorenzo is the best rider to do that, but looking forward to seeing what happens next year.

Be good to see Stoner in as a wild card at some point this/next year.

Yeah it was copied, but i'd call it fair comment, as they did dominant the whole weekend really
It was theirs to lose

Lol imagine him in the rain, he is a chicken **** on the Yamaha, I don't like the bloke he has the personality of a tree stump. He might be good as a rider but as someone attract fans that's a no no.
