Been to watch motorbike racing at Elvington Airfield near York.

nice shots. I would say that the first 5 shots need to have level adjustments. They seem to be lacking a bit of 'punch' imho

cool pics really shows a sence of speed, just out of interest how do you find out when theres stuff on at elvington? seen a few things posted about that place but ive never managed to catch anything

Nice shots, agree also the first set of shots need some level adjustments, too underexposed.

Nice pics! How far is Elvington from East Lancs?

I've never attempted motion shots before. Do you focus before the shots or when tracking the object? Is there a mathematical methof of achieving this effectively?

I only have a 9-36mm on my Olympus E-10 and It does not have interchangeable lens', I'd have to be pretty close to the action get any decent photos of a sporting event wouldn't I?

Anyway, great shots. Esp of the ZXR. Shame you chopped the heads of the guys battling there. The angle on the sidecar is a little extreme too. Was there a blue sidecar with lightning bolts on it? My mates dad races in the F2 series.

Elvington is just about 3-5miles east of york, york is about an hr from leeds. So maybe about an hour and half...

You can manualy focus the area of the track the bike is going to ride over and then use that. Although i find it easlier to put the auto focus on AF-S (its a nikon thing, but most cameras have something which will considantly focus the target. And im affaid, yes you'd have to be very close to get some photos

Good stuff, I was there the other week and I had wind and snow for the sprinting, plus I'm not quite as good as you at taking photos!
