As a budget option the Buffalo Arctic gloves are supposed to be pretty good. I probably can't link to it but a major online book retailer sells them for about £21 and they have plenty of good customer reviews.

The Held Nordpro gloves are just in budget and are a quality manufacturer.

Hey Easy,

I have those HG ones. They've been pretty good, though with my left heated grip broken I still get a pretty cold left hand.

After 6 months of use and a wet trip up to Scotland they did start letting in a bit of water, though i've re-waterproofed them now.

Having little to compare them to I'm still quite happy, just need my damn heated grip fixed now!

Heated grips all the way! I had a £50 pair of RST "Winter" gloves and under-gloves too, and it still wasn't enough at times.

Dunno if this is a myth but my instructor told me that being cold can mean a loss of concentration?

Yea it definitely saps your concentration, too much cold and your body starts to shut down to preserve heat for vital organs.
The wind chill at motorway speeds can go into horrible minus numbers, my fingers have been so numb at times that its taken ages to feel them again and the pain is agonising when the feeling comes back!

Heated grips + lobsters = win :)

I tried the heated gloves a few years back and they were awesome. Lovely toasty hands. I just got fed up with feeding the wire through my jacket and plugging in all the time. Frequently forgot to unplug before attempting to walk away too :p

I think there's a slightly more expensive version that use their own batteries instead of being wired to the battery.

My left grip has stopped heating up after only a year. No damage to the grip and everything looks fine. Right still get warm though. But with a pair of gloves they were great.

Just as a pointer, that Buyapowa site is doing the Gerbings XR12 Heated Gloves quite soon, however they retail elsewhere for about £160 (1st link I checked) so tbh they probably won't fall low enough to be within yr budget...but I have signed in to be notified when they go "live"...just to see what they 'could' get down to.

Linky? never heard of that site?

The link for the main site is http://www.buyapowa.com/

However that seems to show mainly nail varnish, body cremes and other womanly products ... lol
:D :D :D

So you may want to check out their affiliation with Visordown which is http://www.buyapowa.com/visordown

It was the site that Morbius linked to a few weeks ago, for the Abba superbike stand...can't seem to find anyway to discover their other affiliates though...surely there are more out there.

I'm after some winter gloves as well. I have a budget of £60. Last winter I used some £25 RST waterproof gloves but I hate the fact that I can't really feel the levers or grips with them on.

I want gloves that will keep my hands warm for a 30 minutes max journey through winter.
