Motorcycle clothing/gear

Hi two-wheelers!
I will be getting back on a bike this year sometime after being out the game for a while. I need to be updated/refreshed with current brands of gear.
Naturally i have been looking at Shoei for the noggin' and Dainese for the rest. But i was wondering what's about for sort of mid-range qualityrice ratio these days?

I require:

Helmet - Full face, preferably with a lower front to block as much noise from the bike since i will be in more of an upright position. £300~

2-Piece Leather/Textile - Something with decent protection in the usual places, fairly easy to walk/waddle around town in. £500~

Gloves - Knuckle (carbon) and wrist protection. Nicely protective but with some movement in the hands at least! £100

Boots - The usual ankle support and protection and toe slider/bar also. £150

Preferably all in a black and white colour option to go with the bike.


I assume for a quick ride to town/shops in teh summer, Draggin' jeans with armour are still something to look at right?
Any help appreciated.

As always, buy what fits. Expensive gear that fits poorly will be significantly worse than cheap gear that fits well.

Yep indeedy, that's a given, especially where the the helmet is concerned. Everything will be tried on before purchasing.

Just need an idea of brands to keep an eye out for really given the price range.

Shoei or Arai for the lid.

It's months away because i don't have the bike yet -> because i don't have the garage yet -> because i haven't bought a house yet . Which is all going to start in the coming weeks

You should be able to get a decent Arai/shoei/AGV for that price, but its worth trying on some Sharks/Airoh/X-Lite/Nolan as they do some decent lids too.

Leathers I would just try on and buy the most comfortable, they are all as good as each other I find, know people who have bought £250 suits and they have been great and others who have bought £1000 Dainese suits and they have split the seams from slow crashes on track so its swings and roundabouts....

Gloves, Alpinestar or Knox is usually my preference, Racer make some nice gloves too.

Boots I am the same as Rilot, big fan of Sidi's, protected my foot in a big crash, and been down a few times on track too and still going strong.
