I have a Motorola V3 which I can find with my PC Bluetooth dongle to send text messages through my PC. My friend has a Nokia 6230i and twice now we've not been able to get our phones to see each other. As I said I can bluetooth my phone with my PC. My flatmate has the same phone as me and we can see each others phones.

We were in the Arndale centre today and we tried again. My mate's phone found over 20 devices but not mine. I only found about 3 devices and not my mate's phone either. My friend has connected to a Samsung phone and a Nokia over bluetooth. I've connected, as I've said, to my PC and my flatmate's phone.

Any idea why we can't see each others phones? We can't see why a Motorola phone wouldn't connect to a Nokia phone or vice-versa. I've searched the forum for Bluetooth and found nothing relevant. Googling the phones names and bluetooth just gets too many phone shop sites. Any help would be appreciated.

Bumpety bump. No ideas? :( My friend with the phone that picks up 20+ Bluetooth devices found some links that suggest my V3 might be faulty. Anyone able to confirm this?

Make sure both phones are not set to "Hidden" sometimes you will find that some phones just can't talk to each other via Bluetooth. I had this before with a customers phone, it was a Motorola L6 and a Samsung.... they wouldn't see each other but others could see them and vice versa.

Make sure you make your Mot V3 discoverable as I know that the Bluetooth on the V3's turns itself off after 60 seconds to save battery life etc.

Hope this helps?

We don't think they are. I tried the 60 second thing on Saturday to no avail. The thing is that I use the bluetooth feature on my phone to send text messages through my PC. So it works at some level.

Sometimes Bluetooth from one phone to another just isn't compatible, its not common but it can happen.

Bit of a blow but I think you might be right. I have the latest phone software and it definitely works with my PC.:(
