i really like the looks of this phone, but when it came out i was but 11 years old (or something to that extent).

anyway, I've seen some on the 'bay but vaguely remember hearing about them having massive problems (fragile or something)

anyway, i wanted to know if you think that they're ok phones (i don't want a bazillion features thankyouverymuch)

in case you can't remember what phone i'm on about, its this one:

nice simple phone, but you will find it hard to get one in mint condition, just like im having trouble finding a 8850 in good condition!

If you thought that the UI was bad on some of Motorola's newer phones than you should have seen the V70. Even changing between iTap and regular texting was almost impossible and the small screen didn't help!

Ah well, i don't really test that much anyway.

i went and bought it btw, final price (inc P&P) was £33. not bad, i suppose.

aye, just praying it aint battered up by the time it turns up, as then i'll have to get a new one (cant stand even the smallest of scratches, marks or dents on any 8850)

My V70 arrived today, and it looks as though its been refurbed.
I never got to have a detailed look at a V70 when they came out, so i'm not sure if its normal or not. for example, is the top-back panel supposed to be affixed with Torx screws? and is there supposed to be a 2mm gap between the battery panel and the top deck?

I'll get piccies up later so that you can see what i mean.

<edit> after a small amount of gentle panel-beating to the back cover, if fits to the back of the phone much better now. although, it still doesn't feel "right".

still love it though.
