Any thoughts?

For me:

Too much in car. Plus the in car from the C4s was really crap, could hardly see anything.

Commentary was a bit dull.

Highlight was watching Kimi dig his car out of the snow with a plastic shovel. Long way from F1!
 
Havent watched this yet, got it recorded to watch this week, but.... to much in car?!?! Are you mad!!??

Would you prefer we go back to Dave and have 20 mintues of some random guy stood at the side of a track or cooking Pizza and discussing the joys of the Country there in, seemingly forgetting theres a rally going on?!

IRC Coverage on Eurosport is epic with entire stages live with a Camera in every car!

MOAR IN CAR PLZ, KTHXBYE!
 
I saw friday Motor TV coverage, and yes the In-car from a C4 useless hardly see anything, the commentary was dull as dish water, watch Dave on Sunday and that a lot better, Paul King who does the race commentary is much better, but yes it a shame that fill it was ramdom stuff, but it still a better show.......
 
I was hoping Paul King would do the commentary for Motors TV as well, given that it's the same company who produce both shows as it were, however Simon Hill could be far worse... he could be Carlton Curby! Simon Hill does fantastic commentary on the BTCC program but clearly he's not used to doing a scripted show. I'm sure with a few more rounds he'll get more comfortable.

The commentary will take some getting used to but other than that I liked it - Lots more onboard which is good but the C4 camera setup needs sorting out.

Hoping for more of the same over the next 12 events
 
I've finally got round to watching it, and stopped. The commentary is awful. It's like he's no idea what's going on, and hasn't even watched the footage before commenting on it. He keeps fluffing his words, and they've not bothered to redo it.. why? I've just hunted on the coverage done by OneHD, apparently it's more like the Eurosport coverage last year.

onto day 2 now, just getting used to the commentary.. but so annoying that he keeps making mistakes.
stage 10, hirvonen clips a snow bank kinda hard - commentator tells us latvala did - despite the flippin camera showing hirvonen's face.

hah I noticed that - It does seem its a one take shot but remember its their 1st attempt at this so lets see how it is 2-3 Rallies in.
 
it's utter garbage. I'm really annoyed.

the whole lot, it seems to be voiced over in one take - errors and ommsions expected.

commentator 'mocking' block for 'trying to press an imaginary clutch', countless times he tried to interrupt people being interviewed, day 3 i noticed during the intro - he coughed, which caused the sound to fade out, fade the mic in for the cough and then back out again.

i'm fed up of being to told 'sit back, relax and enjoy the ride with x and y'.

all of day 1 seemed to be past tense, and then that changed again for day 2.

just argh, it's utter tripe.

Apparently they are limited to displaying a max of 5 minutes of external footage per day by North One (people who actually handle the video recording for WRC)
