Seeing as Mateschitz has mentioned Kimi to be in the running for the seat next year, I highly doubt Webber will be there now. I'd like him to stay in F1 if possible but wouldn't be surprising if he went into LeMan or DTM.

Since most communications are done via radio now (only using pit boards during radio failure), the need for anyone to be on the pit wall is negated. Surely they would only need one bloke on the wall in case of radio failure, the rest of the team could be put in the garage, where they would be easier to talk to by the pit reporters, like you see if American motorsport.

Baring in mind its a good place for the engineers / team head to observe each pitstop as well (which couldn't be done from anywhere else without mobile cameras etc), and also in the case of accidents / scrapes team members probably look at aspects not always caught on camera as the cars go past

It may also be a question of space - maybe there simply isn't any other suitable space for them given how much is required for the cars, engine supplier engineers , etc etc etc

Webber possibly leaving F1 at the end of 2013 to drive for Porsche in its LMP1 return in 2014?

As available drivers to lead the team go, Webber is a good target for Porsche. I suppose it depends on a) if he gets offered an RBR seat, and b) if he would be happy going to another F1 team if he isn't.

He might do a 'Casey Stoner'.

Or V8 Supercars :D.

Kimi in an RBR ey.... I belive I called that in 2010!

Technically Hamilton didn't beat him as they drew on points in 2007 ;)

Hamilton beat him. Theres no 'technically' about it.

Stumbled across this classic pic from Monaco.
That's a great place to sit :D

Just incredible that not only did they beat the previous record but they beat it on 5 occasions.

Yeah, they make a good point about the consistency too. While McLaren may have had the fastest stop for most of the races last year, they were few and far between in a mish mash of botched or slow stops. Nailing almost every stop in record breaking times is amazing.

That would be awesome.

I imagine it will be further down his career though. He lives in Australia so when he decides to give international racing up he has an epic domestic championship to enter.

I thought he lived in the UK?

Actually wouldn't be surprised if he had houses in both palces... Plus when he retires from F1 can imagine there will be less reason to have a European base.

I just assumed from his comments about "going home and hitting the surf" after Malaysia.

I expect he has bases in both, but given the choice of Australia or the UK once I had retired from F1, I know where I would rather go :D

Reports in Italian media that RBR used a day straight line testing at Idiada with a new exhaust package and redesigned sidepods.

Say Ferrari are due there tomorrow for a similar straight line run.
