Not surprised really. Ricciardo has been lacklustre on his return. Being marginally off on one-lap qualifying pace is forgivable, but his days are numbered if he's also being out-raced by Tsunoda.

Maybe he'll be amazing at his home race, but chances of that are pretty slim.
It'd be nice to see Lawson to get a chance. I still think it was a real shame to see de Vries cast out for Ricciardo before the end of last season, but it was worse that Lawson's effort wasn't rewarded with a drive for this one.

De Vries not sticking with Williams was a historic blunder, but when he failed to deliver at AT I think it was fair enough to show him the door.

DR has been far too mixed since his return - some good results but overall behind Yuki.

Ricciardo's problem is, Yuki is quick. Always has been. What Yuki lacks though is maturity, so I doubt they'll ever want him in the 2nd Red Bull seat.

But if DR is consistently slower than him, he won't be getting it either.

When Honda partner with Aston Martin they’ll likely push hard for a Japanese driver. We could see Stroll and Tsunoda but that’s hardly a line up to instil fear in other drivers is it?

Yuki wasn’t that impressive in f2 he’s been better than I expected in f1, but as always you can’t tell much without a known teammate. Riciardo was never that impressive tbh.

Agreed. If he doesn’t show the same form that got him an AT and then RB set back when he was a fresh face, he’s done in F1 at the end of the season.

Perhaps this is part of it. Realise I'm only going off DTS so shoot me down if wrong, but Yuki seems like he wants to mess around and have a laugh outside of the weekends (no judgement there from me). Maybe Daniel has been brought in as the example to say you can still be the 'fun guy' but add in the discipline as well. It's about getting Yuki to a better standard and that's all.

Stroll spends more time in the wall than on the track. Hopefully he could be shown the door if he continues to urinate away points.
Ricciardo needs to move on.

Ricciardo's other problem is that Lawson showed he had the measure of Yuki, and even though his stint was brief, i got the impression that with a bit more time in the car under his belt, Lawson would have ended up consistently beating Yuki.

Ricciardo certainly was a pretty good driver in his prime. I never saw him as a generational talent like Lewis or Max, but when he was at Red Bull i certainly considered him above average and in the top third of drivers. Someone who could probably scrape a championship if given the fastest car.

He seems to have really lost something now and is decidedly average (a bit like perez), and if i was an F1 team principal i'd likely go with Lawson instead, because i think he showed real potential.

Once DR went to McLaren he went down hill. Even at Renault he struggled but he still managed several podiums. Yes he got a win in McLaren but that was down to Max's stupidity and also team orders as they didn't want to risk 1,2 finish. Think Lando would have won that race if they were allowed to race after that Max and Lewis crash.

Hmm so according to Andrew Benson at the bbc, there have been 2 complaints to the fia so far concerning Horners behaviour. Mr MBS stated there had been no complaints and Horner is his friend.
I’m surprised she is still going with this and hasn’t just taken a pay off. It seems like she really intends to end up in a proper court.
If so they have massively misjudged the situation.

Why though? He has been cleared of any wrongdoing.
We know that the company have cleared him of any wrongdoing, as far as I’m aware RB management do not dictate the rule of law but have to abide by it, so the question is have they?

As for the fia ethics standards, this is an extremely important test, they have a chance to show they mean what they say.
From what I have seen, which is very limited, I don’t think either side covered themselves in glory and they should both be gone.
She may have more evidence however.
