Hey,

Been toying with the idea of getting SKy TV (moving phone + ADSL to them is far cheaper than our existing deal) and besides the well publicised F1 channel what other motorsports are available?

Particularly after knowing which channels they are on :)

Cheers :)

Motors TV show V8 super cars which is amazing, eurosport have IRC and the moto gp support races. Touring Cars in HD on ITV4, as well as BSB on C4. Nascar is on espn I think and Indycar is on sky sports. Fair old whack of stuff there to watch over the year.

Fixed in bold.

DTM was on ESPN this year. I'm sure eurosport said they don't have the GP2 rights next year which may mean Sky will also be showing it. Nothing confirmed yet though.

Would be quite useful to get a sticky up with what channels have what motoracing on and the costs etc.

Hmmmmmmm

Formula 1:
Sky Sports F1 (HD) - All races live
BBC 1 (HD) - 10 races live, the rest extended highlights

GP2:
Was Eurosport, but not confirmed for 2012 yet

GP3:
Was MotorsTV in 2011, not confirmed for 2012 yet

Formula 2:
MotorsTV - All races live

WRC:
Nothing confirmed yet

WTCC:
Eurosport - all races live

WEC:
Cant find any info on it yet.

FIA GT1:
Cant find any info on it yet.

FIA GT3:
Cant find any info on it yet.

IRC:
Not confirmed, but probubly Eurosport.

BTCC (and all the support races):
ITV4 - all races live

BSB:
No idea

SBK:
No idea

MotoGP:
BBC
Eurosport

Not complete and probubly wrong, but its a start. Might be better flipping it round and putting channels with the sports they are showing under them?

There are a couple of other motorsports programmes on terestrial TV that are worth watching.

Motorsport UK (ITV1/4) shows things like, Formula Renault, Ginettas, Ginetta Juniors, Clio Cup, Porsche Cup etc.

Motorsport (Channel 4) shows British F3, British Formula Ford championship, British GT, Volkwagen Cup etc.

I find watching club racing/ladder formulae much more entertaining than some of the bigger series, as the racing is a lot closer, the cars move around more, and the drivers make more mistakes!

In Ginetta Juniors, Formula Renault and F3 you can spot the talent that will be knocking on the door of F1 in a few years too.

Motors TV also has the Lotus Elise Trophy series which is generally good racing. I believe they also have the races on the LoTRDC web page.

Yeah, there are some great national series shown on TV. I loved watching the British GT. Once programming is confirmed we can add them to the list.

Also need to add Le Mans. I assume Eurosport will be doing its epic 25 hour marathon again?

Hasn't wrc been on on Dave as a sunday night summary of the weekends rally for the last few years? (might have abandoned it though as it wasn't easy to watch)

They did have it, but I think they lost is for 2011?

So what do people want to do? I'm happy to setup the title post with all the times and channels in it and keep it updated as things are confirmed. But we have a discussion thread here already so I don't want to create 2 threads about the same thing?

Either that, or I create a thread and then get the mods to merge this into it so the discussion and times remain in the same place?
