I was looking at a new motor, when I've checked the MOT history it shows its failed an MOT on 3rd September with 1 dangerous and 9 major defects but shows it still has a valid MOT until November.

Does the failed MOT not supercede the previous one?

Can a car be sold with dangerous and major defects?

Yeah it's not even worth a look, was just wondering how it would be legal to sell it

Do not drive until repaired (dangerous defects):

Repair immediately (major defects):

  • Offside Front Headlamp aim projected beam image is obviously incorrect (4.1.2 (c))
  • Nearside Front Position lamp not working (4.2.1 (a) (ii))
  • Exhaust Lambda reading after 2nd fast idle outside specified limits (8.2.1.2 (c))
  • Nearside Front Road wheel fixing missing (5.2.1 (a) (i))

  • Offside Rear Road wheel fixing missing (5.2.1 (a) (i))
  • Exhaust has a major leak of exhaust gases (6.1.2 (a))
