Mountain Biking

Im not selling the status.. it’s a park tank at the end of the day and I still love it. I’ll think about it after the summer.

Brakes were fitted to the ONE77 earlier today, one didn’t want to bleed for love nor money so I ended up doing it the old fashioned way with syringes.. it was messy..

Braking power is insanely good but I’m on the fence if they’re better than the MT7s. They are certainly built better that’s for sure.

GX wireless isn’t getting fitted, the XT will do just fine. It’s one more thing to remember to charge and ruin a day out if I don’t.

Here she is. Love it!

And a small update, the OneUp dropper I removed when stripping the Scout just so happens to be the same diameter, 20mm shorter in the body but an additional 30mm drop, it sits lower in the frame too. Added a cheeky hope lever too. Loving the bike and how easy it is to blast up the sh****t trails now. Proper chuffed.

Bought me a Voodoo Bizango with slime in the tyres this week. Went out for the first time today on it and the back tire went flat so I am not happy!
If it’s a big enough hole, no amount of slime is going to fix it. Something to bear in mind. It’s a means of getting you home for the most part rather than an active and functioning fix (although it can certainly be just that given the right set of circumstances).

I can't see any hole at all, the valve is green though so I am wondering if that isn't affixed properly. My brother and I looked for about 10 minutes and couldn't see any holes in the tire.

If the valve has green around the base or where the actual valve top is then you need to tighten the ring on the shaft to seal it properly and potentially the core to make sure you aren’t losing air there.

Thanks, I have pumped up the tire again to see if it holds air, which it seems to be. It tells me there isn't such a large cut that the air just rushed out so I am not sure what else it could be.

If your tyre pressure isnt high enough and the tyre hasnt been seated correctly when going tubeless then it may lose air at thr rim when it takes any sort of even mild knock.

Pump it up to about 50psi, if you hear some load snapping then that's the tyre seating. Take the air out and then set pressure again to what you ideally would like to run.

Thanks, it's seemingly holding air right now, though only at 40psi. I had to borrow a pump because mine didn't have a presta valve. I need to buy one for myself now.

Thanks for the input mate I really appreciate it. The bike feels nice, just some bad luck it seems!

New shock, new fork, new stem… makes me want to swap out the Kashima dropper though. Stickers on the fork are garbage, new gold and silver have been ordered thankfully and shall arrive shortly.

The shock is significant as an upgrade over the old, the fork, not as much as I’d have thought, it’s really nice but I don’t think it’s up to Zeb ultimate 3.1 levels, that may just be the set up, we shall see.

Well an update from me on my MTBing. I got back into mountain biking over a decade ago, and rode with a group of friends until we gradually lost touch a bit and they all bought E-MTBs. I put off getting one again and again mainly due to price. I kind of figured I wouldn't try one as I knew I'd like them so stuck with analogue, riding my old 2008 Stump jumper for ages! I couldn't afford the 4/5K prices anyway so never really considered them. I was looking at buying a decent, few years old (so still a big upgrade for me) analogue Enduro focussed bike back end of last summer and was going to spend maybe 1.5K on something...

Then in December I saw a post on HUKD where Paul's Cycles UK were selling these Raymon Trailray E-MTBs very well spec'd for £1999.99. Loads of people jumped at the chance and bagged one. I went for it. The rest is history. Incredible bike. I'm now going riding with my old MTB group and they are shocked at the value for money where they all spent a lot more for the same kind of spec, all be it with more well known brand name frames. Otherwise parts are similar. The battery life and motor are great. It rides well. I'm astounded at what these E-MTBs can do. It's opened up a whole new world of exploration and being able to pretty much go anywhere and ride anything without fitness being an issue. I can also get whatever level workout I want by adjusting the motor. I know I am years late to the party but just wanted to share a success story with a revitalised MTBer.

Those Raymons are GasGas bikes if you look in to it. Banging value. I was tempted to get one for the missus but they also offer EMTB hard tails at like £1400-1600 so will go down that route I think.

Enjoy the rides, they are fricking awesome!!

You get red or white? Pics?

Yes, they also are the same frames as Haibike I think? Will post pics soon. :)
