Hi,

Quick question about something I'm considering doing, getting a desk mount for 2 different monitors. The issue has arisen because the mounts in the range I want to spend don't tend to have relative height adjustment between the two monitors, just of both.

The monitors in question are a 24" BenQ G2420HDBL and 22" Packard Bell Viseo 220DX.

If I mount these will the manufacturers have made an effort to have the mounting holes in a similar position, or could they be wildly different? Is there any real way of finding out before I buy a mount, other than putting both face down/trying to guess from images of the mounting hole locations from google?

Thanks,

Mitch.

I don't think manufacturers are forced to place the mounting holes on any particular position although 9 out of 10 times they'll be in the middle. So if you have two monitors of unequal sizes you're bound to end up with something like
PHP:
+-----------+
|           |+-------+
|           ||       |
|           |+-------+
+-----------+
Space on both the top and bottom, screens that don't line up at the bottom or top. Only thing VESA seems to specify is the size of the screws (m4) and the distance between the holes (M6/M8 for the 200mm+ mounts). You could get two cheap independent monitor arms to line them up if that's what you want.
